FORMER Swindon Town fans’ favourite Rory Fallon is expected to make his Crawley Town debut at the County Ground tonight.

The striker, who played 89 times for Swindon between 2003 and 2006, recently arrived at Crawley on loan from St Johnstone and, with Billy Clarke suspended for this evening’s fixture, the New Zealander is set to be drafted into the Red Devils’ starting line-up by manager John Gregory.

Fallon is best remembered by Town supporters for the sensational overhead kick which earned the Robins a 1-1 draw with Bristol City in 2004 and the frontman scored another 24 goals for the Wiltshire club during his 26-month stay before leaving to join Swansea City.

Meanwhile, Gregory has an abundance of options available to him as he looks to build on Crawley’s 2-1 victory at Walsall.

The Sussex side are only two places above the League One drop zone but have played six fewer games than Swindon due to a succession of postponements.

Gregory has drafted in Gary Dicker, Fallon, Paul Connolly, Matt Tubbs, Ross Atkins, Hiram Boateng and Sullay Kaikai over the course of the past two months and admitted he has plenty to think about ahead of tonight’s game.

“I have to say, looking at my bench now, I’ve got some quality which I can turn to, which wasn’t the case four or five weeks ago. So that side of things has improved,” he said.

“Unfortunately I couldn’t find a space on the bench for Crawley’s legend, Sergio Torres. I couldn’t find a space on the bench for him and that shows the standard of the squad has gone up. I have to make decisions.”
