FARINGDON Town put a dent in Division One leaders Dorchester’s title hopes after they held them to a goalless draw.
Town’s A side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Division Four table-toppers Turnpike Sports. Ashley Beckett and Mark Davies scored their goals with Ben Spencer replying for Faringdon.
Coleshill United took their fellow Second Division hosts Abingdon United Reserves right down to the wire in their North Berks War Memorial Cup quarter final only to lose 3-0 in extra-time thanks to goals from Chris Hooper, Steve Pitson and Paul Brewerton.
Ten-man Faringdon Town reserves crashed out of the Paul Nairne Trophy at the semi-final stage as they were thrashed 5-0 by Kintbury Rangers Reserves.
Two goals from Alastair Shambrook, one each from James Keen and Jake Shearsby, and an own goal gave the Third Division side the win.
