SWINDON swimmers Jazz Carlin and Tilly Gray were both amongst the medals at the Mediterranean Open in Marseilles over the weekend.

Carlin finished second in the 200m freestyle on the opening night of the event just, behind French swimmer Charlotte Bonnet, but despite just missing out on gold she swam a personal best and set a new Welsh record.

The former Swindon Tigershark followed the feat up with a victory in the 400m freestyle in a time of 4:05.56, finishing two seconds ahead of Mireia Belmonte with a time which put Carlin in third position in the world rankings.

Gray was competing in the 200m butterfly and came in second behind Judit Ignacio to claim an impressive silver medal.
