Pritchard nominated for another award

Swindon Advertiser: Alex Pritchard Alex Pritchard

TOWN winger Alex Pritchard has been nominated for another Football League award.

After being named on the three-man shortlist for the Football League Young Player of the Year award on Monday, the Tottenham loanee has now been nominated for the League One Player of the Year award.

Pritchard has been nominated alongside Wolves midfielder Kevin McDonald and Adam Forshaw of Brentford, and will find out if he has won both awards on Sunday evening.

Matt Ritchie won the same award last season, partly for his work with Town before his transfer to Bournemouth last January.

Good luck Alex, different class compared to your team mates.
Would be a great asset for wolves next season

He does stand out from the rest of our squad, one of the very few players you can get excited about to see on the team sheet as you've got confidence he can create something (as on Saturday - can't think of anyone else we have who can pick up the ball out wide, run at the defence and hit a cracking shot the way he did to set up the first goal). Doubt we'll be keeping him past the end of the season, would be delighted if we did, but from what I've seen he should be playing in the Championship.

Yeah good post
Still don't think he's a touch on Ritchie yet. Not keen on his corners, but has great vision and not frightened to take people on, the rest IMO are a bit of a mish mash of good and bad

I can only see Pritchard progressing on to a team who can use his creativity & ability with width and space.

His days of playing alongside duffers like Harley are numbered.

I can't ever remember a season like this one. 9 wins in the first 4 months... then 4 wins in the last 4 months.

March might be the first month of the season where we fail to win at all.

Cooper currently rests on (a barrelful of excuses) at 13 wins from 36 games (36% win rate)...

But IF we fail to *win* against City, Preston, Tranmere, Sheff Utd, Carlisle & Brentford.... he would thenl drop to 13 wins from 42 games (31%)....

...which would mean that his win rate would exactly match a Town manager of the yesteryear... a certain Maurice Malpas !!!

No wonder we're struggling.

Fully deserved recognition. Pritch has been my stand out Swindon player of the season by a country mile. Whenever he has been sidelined for whatever reason, I do wonder where the spark of inspiration for a goal scoring opportunity is going to come from. His work ethic and commitment is faultless, Fingers crossed for you Alex.
