WES Foderingham was pleased Swindon Town gave their fans a performance to be proud of as they hung on for a 0-0 draw at Bristol City yesterday.

Foderingham, who returned from a month out with a groin injury to keep his side’s first clean sheet in seven matches at Ashton Gate, was well aware of the need for an improved showing following turgid displays in recent weeks.

And he felt Town provided just that for the 2,004 supporters who made the short trek down the M4.

“We needed a result, there’s no two ways about it. Our recent form hasn’t been good, it’s a derby so it’s good to get the point for the fans,” he said.

“I think the play-offs are gone now, if I’m totally honest. I don’t think we’ll go down, even though I know some people have been talking about that. We’ve done very well considering the amount of changes we’ve had this year.

“We’re just going to try to keep on playing our football and hopefully it will bode well for next season.

“We’ve got massive fixtures coming up so it will be a good chance for the boys who are starting to get a chance in the team now.”
