PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Preston North End Results and Updates

So finally we can reset the form books. Swindon’s eight games without a win – gone. Preston’s 12 games unbeaten run – gone. And finally, Swindon score first and manage to hang on for all 3 points. Though the Town weren’t just hanging on they were unfortunate not to win by more with an impressive display at home. A performance that we know they are capable of and that has been long overdue.

Preston remain firmly in the play-off positions. The fact that they are currently 11 points ahead of Peterborough, means that they should be in the mix for the lottery come May. Swindon on the other hand are now just 7 point behind Posh, but they do have a game in hand. Has the spark been reignited in the Town camp? Who knows. One thing is sure, that 6th place in the league is up for grabs and the team that can put a run together could snatch it at the end.

In my opinion we have 5 teams that may have a claim on that spot. The incumbent Peterborough, baring slip ups should secure a play-off berth. Yet, don’t discount MK Dons to pounce on any more Posh short falls. Crawley have games in hand over everyone and have an outside chance. Sheffield United are in good form and visit the CG next Saturday. A win for either team and their aspirations still linger on, a defeat and their season is well and truly is over.
