COTSWOLD Flyball Club are about to embark on the most exciting season in their history.

The Malmesbury-based club hopes to perform to even high levels this year and the outdoor BFA season will start at Acremead, Didcot this weekend.

The Cotswold club will be sending the largest number of dogs in their history to compete, over 30, across six teams.

The assault on the new term will be spearheaded by the club’s top team, the Cyclones, featuring Rocky, Tammi and Poppi with young dog Flynn now in his third season and Dexter in his second.

The Typhoons will be a mix of youth and experience, Cerys, Rona, Reuben, Dylan and Scrumpy.

The Zephyrs will feature the ultra fast Boo, a whippet returning from a broken leg, Woody, Mist, Lexie and Mopp.

The Sciroocos also look good prospects for an outside bet with a mix of large and small dogs, Evie, Jasper, Chops and the small pocket rocket Pera.

The Sundowners see some veterans mixed with young pacy dogs and could cause and upset, Kelli, Jack, Heckla, Moss and Lexie will all feature.

The novice team running under the name of the Puffs sees Darragh, Rosie, Belle, Poppet and Poppy will all get their first taste of competition on the big stage.
