YASER Kasim did not train with the rest of the Swindon Town squad on Thursday but assistant coach Luke Williams is hopeful the Iraqi’s niggle will not be serious enough to rule him out of the weekend clash with Brentford.

The nature of Kasim’s injury was not identified by Williams, as he remained optimistic about the possibility of the midfielder being able to prepare with his teammates on Friday prior to the visit of the Bees.

Williams told the Advertiser: “Yaser Kasim might have a problem, we’re not sure exactly what yet. It’s nothing too serious but he didn’t train and we’re being careful with Yaser but he’s got the chance to train tomorrow and he could be involved.

“Yaser has played so much football this year so we don’t need him to train every day. We took a precaution with him but we expect him to train and to assess him tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Williams confirmed that Grant Hall will be available for selection on Saturday after emerging unscathed from a run-out in Town’s development side on Tuesday.

Hall, who has been out of action since mid-January with a calf problem, played a part as Swindon beat Bristol Rovers 1-0 and could now feature in the Robins’ matchday squad against Brentford.

Williams said: “I think he probably is available for selection because he came through the game. He was fine and looked excellent, no problem.

“You could see that Grant was not as sharp as he has been and physically he would cruise a reserve-team game, but it actually took a bit out of him. Nothing that we wouldn’t expect.”

I thought our new back line had been doing ok recently... why change it with Hall?
