Too early to commit for Cats’ star Nell
STAR forward Aaron Nell has insisted it’s too early to start thinking about where he will be playing his hockey next season.
The British forward returned to the Link Centre just before Christmas on a two-way deal from Elite League Sheffield, having not enjoyed as much game time with the Steelers as he would have liked.
Nell was part of the Wildcats side which stormed into the Premier League play-offs only to lose out to Manchester in the semi-finals in Coventry on Saturday, meaning the son of Cats owner Steve needs to start weighing up his options for the 2014/15 season.
The 24-year-old will take a few weeks off before making any decisions but, regardless of what he decides to do, he knows the Wildcats will be in safe hands.
“We’ll have a couple of weeks and then decide what’s going to happen next year,” he said.
“Right now you unwind and have a couple of weeks to decide what’s happening but I know Wildcats will be in a good place next year and will be a better team than this year.
“The team we have at the moment is very close and I think it’s the closest we have had in my six years here.
“I know whoever’s here next year will carry it one and keep on building.
“It’s a massive part of the game and the team and what Ryan and my dad are doing is making a place where Swindon want to come and play and want to stay when they are here because it’s a fun place to be.”
