COTSWOLD Flyball Club enjoyed a successful opening event the season at Didcot, with five of its six teams entered placing.

The Typhoons’ team of Reuben, Cerys, Dylan and Rona stole the show with a clean sweep of five wins to take first place in Division Seven.

The Cyclones, with a re-jigged line up due to injury, looked the class act in Division Four but had to settle for second after a slick Sussex team pounced on a couple of errors.

The new Puffs novice team of Darragh, Poppie, Rosie, Belle and Bonnie showed the club has some rising stars coming through the ranks by taking third in their division, including a 3-0 whitewash of local rivals Bassets.

The Sciroccos, running together for the first time, put up a spirited perfomrmance in Division Eight and took fourth place.

The Sundowners, mixing experience and youth, emulated their sister team by taking fourth in Division Nine.

The Zephyrs struggled with a new line-up for the season and, after a difficult morning, rallied for the afternoon session, picking up a win and a very close final match but this could not prevent them slipping to sixth.

The club will now turn their attentions to Evesham this weekend, with seven teams set to travel to Worcestershire.
