MASSIMO Luongo feels Swindon Town are “back on track” as they prepare for an Easter double-header against Coventry City and Bradford City.

The Robins recovered from their 1-0 defeat at Carlisle United on April 5 with a stoic performance in beating Brentford at the weekend and, with four games of the campaign remaining, Luongo feels the Town squad are in a good place mentally.

And he’s stressed that, while their chances of reaching the League One play-offs are slim, he and his teammates will not just be playing out dead rubbers.

He said: “It was a good result. It was good to get one over Brentford and there are positives going into the end of the season as well. We had a little blip at Carlisle but we’re back on track, the teams looking good, team selection is getting harder and I’m quite proud of the team when you think of what we’ve done.

“If we can take it on to Rotherham at the end of the season, that would be brilliant.

“They’re all big games. Coventry are probably one of the best teams we’ve played so that will be an exciting game. Bradford is always a tough challenge leading up to Rotherham at the end of the season, which is big as well.

“The squad is looking thick and everyone’s fit. People have proved they can come in and do a job.

“Everyone’s got something to play for, whether it’s to show what you’ve got or put yourself on display in the last four games, boys out of contract, it gives the manager something to think about.”
