Wootton Bassett thumped Abingdon Town 5-0 away from home in the Premier Division last night.

Goals from Ryan Stanners (2), Adam Corcoran, Kalum Youngsam and Tyler Sheppard clinched a superb victory against lowly Abingdon.

Elsewhere in the Premier, Highworth were beaten 4-2 at home to Wantage Town while Shrivenham won 4-1 away at Brimscombe & Thrupp.

New College will be looking to take advantage of bottom-club Letcombe when they visit The Webb’s Wood tonight.

The Students lost at home to Hook Norton and Saturday and the visit of Letcombe could not have come at better time for a team in need of a win.

Letcombe have only picked up two wins all season and have conceded 96 goals in the process. One of those wins did come in the return fixture against New College last September but given the vistors’ record since then it would not be presumptious to assume that Mark Teasdale will be expecting a win from tonight’s game.

New College are clear of any relegation trouble but will want to finish ahead of local rivals Malmesbury Victoria who are just three points worse off.

Gareth Davies’ side will look to build on Saturday’s suprise win against Fairford when they face Hook Norton tonight.

Last time out against Hook Norton Malmesbury lost 4-1 at the Flying Monk but Davies will be hoping that the momentum from Saturday’s win help them to a better result.

Elsewhere in Hellenic Division One South & West Chris Pethick’s Purton take on Carterton at home.
