WOOTTON Bassett Town will look to book their place in the Bluefin Sports Supplementary Challenge Cup final tonight when they travel to Brimscombe and Thrupp.

Jeff Roberts’ side were already set to make the trip to the Stroud Valleys this evening for a Hellenic League Premier Division match.

However, following Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Cheltenham Saracens this match will now a bit of added spice to it, while the league clash has been rearranged for April 30.

“We have to change our approach to this game now,” Bassett manager Roberts said. “We have been tinkering with some of the players positions recently because we have been looking a bit tired.

“In the last two games though, we have been looking a bit more hungier, we have kept two clean sheets and scored eight goals.”

Bassett head to Gloucestershire on the back of a 5-0 thrashing of basement boys Abingdon Town on Tuesday night, but Roberts is expecting a completely different test tonight.

“We beat Brimscombe at our place earlier in the season and it was a physical game and I’m expecting more of the same.

“This is a one-off match, but I feel that we are clicking and not trying to do too much with the ball.”

Chippenham Town will look to maintain their recent run of form when they make the trip to Hungerford Town in Southern League Premier Division.

The Bluebirds head to Berkshire on the back of two wins having defeated Banbury United 2-0 on Saturday and Truro City 3-1 last week.

However, Mark Collier’s men go up against a side desperate to make the play-off places, they currently sit in sixth place one point behind Stourbridge with a game in hand, and have won their last 10 league matches.

This evening’s game is the rearranged contest from the meeting last month when Bluebirds midfielder Rob Dean suffered a horrific leg injury which has ended his playing career.

Meanwhile, Purton fell to a 3-2 home defeat to Carterton in Division One West.

Malmesbury Victoria lost 2-0 at Hook Norton, while Christy Miller struck twice for New College in their 3-1 win over Letcombe.
