NATHAN Byrne is not expected to have recovered from illness in time to face Notts County this weekend.

The full-back, who missed the 1-0 victory over Bradford City on Easter Monday after suffering from diahorrea, has yet to train with the Swindon Town squad this week.

Robins manager Mark Cooper was anticipating Byrne’s return to the session at Liddington yesterday but he was unable to attend and is now unlikely to feature at Meadow Lane.

Meanwhile, Cooper continues to be without a whole host of senior players for the trip to Notts. Yaser Kasim is out for the rest of the season with a stress fracture to a metatarsal, Ryan Mason is still recovering from ankle surgery, Nile Ranger has a hamstring tear, Louis Thompson a problem with his hip and Grant Hall torn ligaments.

Cooper said: “The only big concern is we’ve got a team of players in the treatment room that would go close to giving the team that played on Monday a game.

“It will be the same squad as Bradford. I was expecting (Byrne) to train (on Thursday) but the physio came in and said he’s still ill.”
