Rosco confident ahead of Wolverhampton visit

Swindon Advertiser: Robins' boss Alun Rossiter Robins' boss Alun Rossiter

ROBINS boss Alun Rossiter believes his Robins face Wolverhampton at a good time but isn’t taking anything for granted ahead of the Monmore Green visit.

Swindon go in search of back to back away victories in the West Midlands this evening, following Friday’s success at Coventry, and will be doing so against a Wolves side yet to hit top gear this season.

Despite believing his side may be visiting at an opportune moment, the Robins boss knows they will still face a thorough examination.

“They are a good side who haven’t quite got going and so, if there is a good time to go there, this could well be it,” he said. “But, on the flip side of that, they may have had a good rollicking from the management and be gunning for us.

“All that said we should go there with confidence from our win on Friday night and we should take a lot of heart from that one.

“Both our reserves ride for Cradley at the Wolverhampton track and they should know the track well. There’s not much pressure on Nathan (Greaves) in his first meeting and we will be pleased with a couple of three points.”

Wolves skipper Tai Woffinden has so far struggled to recapture the form which saw him claim the world title in October, but Rossiter is expected his Great Britain rider to return to form soon.

“I’m sure Tai will be back on form soon, everyone goes through a phase where it doesn’t quite go for you.

“Sometimes people think they have reached their goal and then ease off, but I’m not saying Tai has done that, but it can happen. Sometimes you can find it hard to get going again after giving so much to achieve your dreams, which Tai did.

“He’s a great rider with a great attitude and I know he will be back soon, just hopefully not against us.”

WOLVERHAMPTON: Tai Woffinden, Jacob Thorssell, Ricky Wells, Ty Proctor, Piotr Pawlicki, Joe Jacobs, Ashley Morris.

SWINDON: Peter Kildemand, Dakota North, Nick Morris, Simon Gustafsson, Troy Batchelor, Nathan Greaves, Steve Worrall.
