LAWRENCE Bennett has been given the go-ahead to fight Chris Keane in a British cruiserweight title eliminator.
The current Southern Area champion will take on the West Midlander at the Oasis Leisure Centre on June 7 on the undercard of Kelvin Young’s first IBO super-middleweight inter-continental title defence.
The 31-year-old was informed of the British Boxing Board of Control’s formal approval this morning.
His manager Keith Mayo said: “I’m dead chuffed that it has been approved, it is a big, big step for him.
“It had already been verbally agreed and it was approved at the full boarding meeting yesterday.”
