SWINDON’S Jack Tweddell enjoyed a run to the quarter-finals of the eighth PDC Youth Tour event of the season on Saturday.
Playing at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, Tweddell beat Ryan Newton 4-1 in the opening round of the afternoon event, before getting rid of Matthew Dicken by the same score in his second match.
Aaron Holdstock was beaten 4-2 in the third round before Tweddell beat Keegan Brown, an established player on the PDC Players Championship, 4-2 in round four for his best result of the day.
His run came to an end as he lost 4-1 to Rhys Hayden in the quarter finals but he had already done enough to pick up £150 for his troubles.
Earlier in the day, Tweddell was knocked out in round two of event seven as he lost 4-3 to Sam Fuller after beating Lewis Hatchett 4-0 in round one.
Tweddell was also competing yesterday in the Challenge Tour events but didn’t enjoy such good progress.
In event one of the day the Swindon player was beaten in round two by Reece Robinson having earlier beaten Mike Norton in round one, but was knocked out at the first stage in event two as he lost 5-2 to Brett Claydon.
