HORSESHOE Amateur Boxing Club will be host the junior ABA quarter-finals at Kembrey Park on Saturday.

The club, who train out of the Oppenheimer Centre in Greenbridge Road, will be staging 36 bouts on the day, with 10 fighters from Horseshoe also competing.

Horseshoe head coach Brian Roberts said: “We are chuffed to bits that we have the quarter-finals of the junior ABAs.

“We are still quite new club so to have this happening we are over the moon.

“It is a shame not we haven’t got any of our boxers involved in the quarter-finals, the opening round of them were up in Scotland and their was a bit of mix-up, but we have got 10 local bouts on as well.

“We have only just had it confirmed that all this is taking place so we are chuffed to bits and I’d like to thank all the sponsors for helping put this show on.”

The championship boxing will start at 2pm with the Western Counties fighters taking on opponents from the Southern Counties.

The Horseshoe boxers involved on Saturday evening will be Luke Scott-Brown (31kg), Jake Stephens (39kg), Cameron Lampard (48kg), George White (50kg), Kayden Connolly (50kg), George Richardson (52kg), Sam Vallis (56kg), James Townsend (67kg), Harrison Pearson (72kg) and Freddie Nicholls (74kg).

They will be going up against fighters from Chippenham, Gloucester, London and Weston-super-Mare.

Ticket prices are £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and it is pay on the door.
