WOOTTON Bassett captain Darren Beasant is anticipating “one of the toughest away games” of his club’s season when he leads his team to Bradford on Avon tomorrow.

Bassett sit third in Wiltshire League Division One and could go top on Saturday if they win and results elsewhere go in their favour.

However, he’s under no illusions how tough the task will be.

He said: “They’re a decent outfit. They didn’t have a great year last year and they’ve had an indifferent start but I think it’ll be one of our tougher away games.

“It can be a little bowler-friendly down there at times and they’ve got some very talented individuals. We’re going to have to be at our best.

“It’s one of those games you look at and think ‘if the weather gods intervene that wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world’ but equally, if we do get to play, you have to back yourself to get a result.

Ian Lancaster is missing for Bassett, who will draft in Paul Huckin from the seconds as a spin replacement, while veteran batsman Mark Vincent plugs a gap in the middle order with Jack Paish away.
