SHRIVENHAM are hoping to return to winning ways tomorrow when they host bottom of the table Hook Norton, writes James Harris.

The hosts were well beaten last week against Cowley International and Shrivenham’s Conor Taylor has think his side lack consistency.

The all-rounder said: “We are yet to deliver with both bat and ball in the same game.

“Whenever we’ve done well in one discipline, we’ve let ourselves down in the other and at the moment we can’t seem to string together good performances.

“It is frustrating because last year we were so successful in doing that and we know we have the capability in our side to perform consistently, but right now something is not clicking.”

This week’s visitors Hook Norton have lost all five of their league games this year and Taylor, who blasted 131 off just 68 balls when these sides met last year, is optimistic his team can make a winning return.

He added: “Hook Norton actually have a reasonable batting line-up and are better than they’ve shown so far.

“But at home we are normally successful and if we can go back to the basics and perform them well, I believe we will be too strong for them.”

The pressure is beginning to mount on Shrivenham’s senior batsmen so a fixture against struggling Hook could be the ideal opportunity to add some much needed runs.

Shrivenham have been forced into making two changes from last week’s side with Rob Wycherley and Tom Swann replacing Alex Kill and Andrew Bowles.
