Wiltshire reached the semi-final of the Unicorns Knock Out Trophy on Sunday as they beat Norfolk at Corsham by three wickets in a low scoring quarter final.

Norfolk won the toss and chose to bat and were soon in trouble with Jake Roberts taking two early wickets.

Wiltshire’s bowlers continued to dominate and after 23 overs Norfolk had slumped to 84 for eight. A partnership of 47 between Harry Bush (36) and Chris Brown (36 not out) gave some respectability to the score as Norfolk were all out for 144 in the 41st over. Jake Roberts taking three for 46, Ashur Morrison two for 15 and Ed Young three for 26.

Wiltshire started aggressively but also lost wickets and after 21 overs were 92 for six. WithJayden Levitt contributing 19, Joe Breet 20 and Michael Coles 23.

Adam Miles (18) then joined Ed Young (28 not out) and with sensible batting took the score to 127 when Miles was out.

Tahir Afridi then came in and immeditaely struck three boundaries to secure the win with 19 overs remaining.

Wiltshire will now play Oxfordshire away on July 13 in the semi-final.

On June 22, 23 and 24, Wiltshire play Dorset in their next three-day match in the Unicorns County Championship at Corsham, play starts at 11am on each day.
