SWINDON TOWN: Archibald-Henville: Carlisle move "seemed like the best thing to do"
2:25pm Thursday 3rd July 2014 in Sport
TROY Archibald-Henville has said his move to Carlisle United was "the best thing to do" after turning down the offer of a pay-as-you-play contract at Swindon Town.
The towering defender penned a two-year deal with the Cumbrians yesterday, ending two years in Wiltshire during which he was plagued by injuries.
However, on his return to the Town first time towards the end of last season, the former Tottenham man became one of the key parts in manager Mark Cooper's side and many fans were disappointed to see him leave.
Speaking about the deal tabled to him by Swindon owner Lee Power, Archibald-Henville said: "It was probably to be expected. I know the way they are trying to run the club now is different to how it was run when I was given my original contract.
"They explained it, and there were some parts I disagreed with, other parts I can maybe understand. There were problems, really, from the start of the offer, and the (offer) from Carlisle got more serious about two weeks ago.
"There were some other options, but this seemed like the best thing to do. It feels good to be back."
