SWINDON Town striker Miles Storey has signed for Portsmouth on a season-long loan.

The striker's long-protracted switch to Fratton Park had been delayed for several weeks as negotiations continued between the two clubs, but the paperwork required to ratify the move was submitted to the authorities yesterday - as reported in this morning's Advertiser - with Storey officially being announced as a Pompey signing this morning.

The Adver first revealed news of Portsmouth's interest in the former Wolves trainee on May 7, with Shrewsbury Town also understood at the time to be keen to land Storey for the 2014/15 campaign.

Bad move Cooper he should be playing for Swindon this season.

If he does OK at a bigger club like Portsmouth he wont want to come back to Swindon .

Good news that the deal is sorted. We've seen glimmers of what Storey can do and if he's getting a lot of game time out on loan he'll only get better which is good for us.

It's important we use the loan market for developing our players as well as improving our squad; otherwise our young potential will never get the chance to develop.

Agreed but I doubt that he has been promised any more inclusions in starting elevens than he would`ve had at Swindon.

Can only assume, that all of the so called fans saying this is a bad move, have not actually watched Miles play. Yes, he has pace and potential and shows glimpses of ability, but he is largely ineffectual, and his best chance of making it as a professional footballer is to get more experience, at a lower level which will hopefully give him the platform to improve and better himself. The club are giving the lad, who appears to be an excellent professional, the best possible chance to make a career for himself, which should be applauded.

First wish the young player well and hope he stays injury clear and has a great season at Pompey.
Now it seems he was not part of the Managers Plans for coming season, and again why pay out wages if the player is not selected,he needs games to improve himself.
This could only be the begining. As LP said Budget may need to be cut yet again. So as Fans we either want a club or not.
LP can only do so much with Funds he has.(he did say he aint no millionare)
So I for one have no idea what there plans are my only negative feeling in MC,yet he did well with the team last season who the hell am i to critisize??no is just an opinion most likely wrong.
So is now a waiting game and I do think a few more will depart before we see any arrivals. So good luck to the Towm (my four flights are paid for)all i got to do is save up for tickets for the games.

Quite the opposite Red the ones saying this are the people with season tickets who have watched town for over 30 years and understand the concept of youth players and development. Please use less of the 'so called fans' we all have different views but we are all fans of this club !

I wish Storey all the best, for me he has a lot of talent and I still don't feel he was given the chances he deserved but I guess that's the style of football Cooper wanted and wants to play. Good luck Myles, hope you return but doubt you will

All the best, now come on Cooper start those cheap but effective signings coming in for those of us who have already bought our season tickets for next year ...

Lets be honest, he did well over a few games and has struggled since. I like the lad, but if he was played week in week out and didn't get the net as often as some liked then many would be quick to turn on him. At L2 level he will do well and develop his game which is the purpose of the loan and also it will free up some money for a proven front man to come in. Power is looking at a much bigger picture than a small article in the Adver.

you gots ta be kidding me says...

I think this is a good move for Miles, Cooper talks about him not holding the ball up which is clear intent of how we will play this year with our slow backward triangle of innefectual attacks and we have Smith who we all know always holds the ball up and has a great touch, don't forget we have Gladwin who can play so well when put up front......

Still I have my ST's since March and wouldn't have it any other way !!

Pleased to say Flag, I am in that category of fans, only difference now is that I do a round trip of well over a hundred miles every game for the privelege. Having run a boys football club for many years, i fully understand the concept of youth football and player development. I also bought my season ticket on the first available day. If I cannot refer to people such as Robinonfire as a "so called fan", given the amount of negative and destructive drivel that he spouts on here, then I can only assume that freedom of speech and difference of opinion are now both redundant concepts.
