HARRISON Painter and Cameron Baden shared seven wickets as Swindon destroyed Weston-super-Mare in Premier One 2nd XI.

Painter recorded figures of 4-15 from less than five overs, while Baden snared three victims, as Weston slumped to 120 all out from 43.2 overs.

In reply, Swindon cantered to victory thanks to 32 from Dean Williamson and an unbeaten 35 from Paul Davies. The visitors had almost 17 overs to spare when they passed their target for the loss of just four wickets.

In Premier Two 2nd XI, Goatacre came off second best in a ridiculously high-scoring encounter at The Ship Field against Thornbury. The hosts accumulated a remarkable 385-5 from their 45 overs, before restricting Goatacre to 264-9 in response. Chris Chapman managed 61 for the visitors.

Lechlade lost by 34 runs to Westbury in the Wiltshire 2nd XI Division. Westbury posted a first-innings score of 276 thanks to an unbeaten partnership of 180 between Michael Wainwright and James Cotteril, who finished 98 not out and 104 not out respectively.

Cotteril followed up his unbeaten century finished with 5-25 to round off a good afternoon’s work for himself and Westbury.

Elsewhere in the division, Purton were beaten by Winsley. The visitors emerged with a three-wicket win, having chased down Purton’s 230 all out with one over to spare at the PCG.

Adam Gordge hit 81 as Nationwide House beat Burbage & Easton Royal at the Red Lion Field. Gordge’s knock was the cornestone of Nationwide’s 214-6, before Darren Milne claimed 4-21 as Burbage stuttered to 207 all out, falling short by seven runs. Nick Patel top scored for the hosts with 61.
