CRICKLADE rhythmic gymnast Laura Halford has missed out on a medal in her final event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The 18-year-old finished eighth in the ribbon, as her Welsh teammate Francesca Jones took gold to end Patrcia Bezzoubenko's dominance at the Hydro.

She may have missed out in her final event but Halford has enjoyed a successful Games, earning a team silver as well as all-around and ball bronze.
