ROBINS number one Peter Kildemand will be looking to join his team manager Alun Rossiter in the World Cup final this evening when he takes to the track for Denmark in Event Two.

The Dane joins with countrymen Hans Andersen, Bjarne Pedersen and Mads Korneliussen for the meeting in Vastervik, where they will take on hosts Sweden, Latvia and Czech Republic.

With the likes of Nicki Pedersen and Niels-Kristian Iversen sitting out the meeting for the Danes, Kildemand will be looking to impress to keep his place for the final, if Denmark win the meeting, or the Race-Off if they finish second or third.

“I just have to do what I can and then see what happens. If I score well then maybe I can stay in the team but if I don’t then maybe I will be replaced,” he said.

Rossiter was able to lead Britain straight into the final with victory in Event One on Saturday night at King’s Lynn, meaning Troy Batchelor and his Australia team had to settle for a Race-Off spot.

The Robins skipper, however, is confident the Aussies can still make the final and believes Denmark will be the fourth team there in addition to Britain and hosts Poland.

“The next round’s in Sweden on Tuesday, with Denmark and Sweden the two favourites, and I think Denmark will go straight through and we’ll be racing against Sweden and USA in the Race-Off,” Batchelor said.

“Of course we would rather have gone straight through to the final but we haven’t and we will need to be at our best to get there now.”
