DAVID Howell will go into today’s final round at the Bridgestone Invitational with it all to do if he is to qualify for the USPGA Championships.
The Swindon star said at the start of the week that if he finished in the top eight at the Firestone Country Club in Ohio he would make the final major of the year.
However, after his opening round of one-under-par 69 on Thursday, the 39-year-old has shot two rounds 71 to leave him tied for 36th.
Howell tees off today at 10.55am (local time/3.55pm BST) one-over-par and needs to make up a minimum of six shots if he is to get into the top eight.
