LECHLADE face probably the biggest test of their title credentials tomorrow when they make the short journey to Swindon.

The Manor Ground side will be looking to extend their 13 point lead at the summit of the WEPL Glos/Wilts Division while also avenge the nine-wicket home loss to tomorrow’s hosts.

However, Swindon skipper Liam Tucker is not expecting a repeat performance from his side.

“To be honest on that day, everything went for us and Lechlade didn’t play particularly well,” Tucker said, who has named an unchanged side for a fifth consecutive week.

“For it to happen again we would need the something very similar, but Lechlade aren’t top just by luck, they are a very good side. They are in the box seat for winning the title, no matter what the result is on Saturday.”

It’s a big weekend in the Glos/Wilts Division as second placed Rockhampton take on fourth placed Biddestone.

Wins for Lechlade and Rockhampton would end Swindon and Biddestone’s outside title challenge for good this year.

However big wins for the latter would make the title run in over the last three games a four horse race.

The best outcome for Lechlade being a win for themselves and Biddestone which would put Lechlade within touching distance of the Premier Leagues and probably needing only two more wins to secure the title.

Lechlade make only one change with Paul Godding returning for the unavailable Freddie Martin for the derby clash at the Count Ground.

Lechlade captain Joe Breet says that his side know the importance of this Saturday’s game and that everyone is focused on the matter in hand.

He added: “I have no doubt that the boys will be on their best game this weekend as they know a win will go a long way in securing our title aspirations.

“Several of the lads feel they have points to prove after our poor showing in our earlier game with Swindon this season and I am confident we can set the record straight with a win.”
