WANTAGE Town have this morning announced they've signed young Town players Matt Jones and Curtis Da Costa on one-month loan deals.

The teenagers have been involved in Mark Cooper's pre-season plans, but will now start the campaign in Southern League Division One South & West.

Wantage begin their season against Taunton tomorrow, with assistant manager Andy Lyne pleased to have the youngsters available.

“We are very appreciative of Swindon Town for making Matty and Curtis available to us," he said.

"They are both talented lads and are rated very highly by Swindon, so it’s good that we now have the opportunity to give them a run of first team football, which will hopefully benefit all concerned.

"Tomorrow is an historic day for Wantage Town Football Club and a moment that Gary and myself, who have both previously managed the club, never thought we would see.

"We hope that our supporters will turn out in good numbers to welcome the arrival of southern league football.

"The club has worked hard over the last few years to attain this status and we are not about to let it slip.”
