SWINDON Town have made enquiries about bringing in Jamaican international Jamar Loza on loan to provide cover for the injured Jonathan Obika.

The Norwich City striker is thought to be available and with Obika likely to be out for up to 12 weeks, it is understood that Loza is one of the players Town are looking at as a replacement.

The 19-year-old has only made two appearances for the Canaries, those both coming in the League Cup, but is by no means a regular feature in Neil Adams' squad.

Town boss Mark Cooper indicated that Loza was one of a couple of players that he was looking at while his hot-shot forward Obika is out injured.

“We’ve enquired about a couple of centre forwards,” said Cooper.

“At the moment, there’s nothing doing on any of them and I don’t foresee anything happening before the weekend.

“I think it would be prudent of us to bring one in, to keep it fresh and to keep that competition for places really hot.

“It doesn’t matter what level, as long as they can do the job.”

Queen’s Park Rangers defender Jamie Sendles-White is also training with the club and will play in the development fixture with Oxford United today.

It is thought Cooper is interested in bringing in the Northern Ireland under 21 international on loan, indicating he sees the 20-year-old as a player he can develop.

“We look for good young players that can come into our squad and improve us or be ones that we can work with,” added the County Ground chief in reference to Sendles-White.

“We’ve done it over the last 18 months. We are constantly looking for players that we think could be rough diamonds that can come to us.

“Maybe they’re are not ready to play at the Championship (level) and they can come to us and we give them a little bit of experience and try and polish them up.”
