SWINDON Manor will make their debut in the Wessex League regional indoor bowls competition tomorrow.

The club were relocated to Unit 3 on the Cheney Manor Industrial Estate and, after a big refurbishment programme, opened their doors on a four-rink facility in February 2013.

The club had been based at the Oasis Leisure Centre since 1976 and was the first indoor bowling club in Swindon.

They were known firstly as Thamesdown IBC – when they did compete in the Wessex League – before switching to Swindon Oasis.

Tomorrow (10am) Manor’s men’s face Banbury in their first match of the 2014/15 league season, with two rinks each home and away.

Manor will compete initially in the ten-team East Region, alongside Swindon neighbours Westlecot, seeking a top two place in the table to guarantee a spot into the end of season play-offs.

Westlecot, who reached last season’s play-offs, start against Chipping Norton.
