WILDCATS youngster Callum Buglass is itching to get back on the ice ahead of this weekend’s games with Guildford Flames and Bracknell Bees.

The 18-year-old, who was called up to the Great Britain under 20 squad this week, missed the double defeat against Peterborough and Telford after picking up a concussion against Peterborough the previous week.

The D-man has made tentative steps back into training this week and hopes to feature at the Link Centre when the Cats take on the Flames.

“It was a hit from behind, I just didn’t see it because I was down low behind the goal,” said Buglass.

“I am feeling better now, I had one back in February and I felt a lot worse than this one, I think I am trying to get back into it, I rode my bike the other day and felt fine so I have just got to take it in stages.

“I hope to be back this weekend, it is killing me watching, even watching training sessions are tough.”

Buglass has admitted that he has not shown the Link Centre crowd his best form since joining on a two-way deal from the Cardiff Devils in the summer, but is determined to improve and prove his worth.

“I’ve loved every minute so far; I haven’t been so good picking up a slight concussion over in Peterborough so I didn’t play last weekend,” he added.

“I’m getting plenty of ice time and the league is better than I expected it to be.

“I don’t think personally I have had the best start, I think I can get better.

“I go into the games, like when I play a team for the first time, feeling pretty nervous, so I think when I start playing those teams again and again I will get more confidence and I will improve more.”
