Highworth Town U16s moved into fourth place in the league after a 1-1 home draw with Bardwell Girls.

For the second home match running Highworth dominated the match for long periods.

However, they came up against a Bardwell team that defended superbly.

It was Bardwell who took the lead against the run of play capitalising on a Highworth defensive error.

Highworth pressed for an equaliser but had to wait until the final five minutes when Chloe Scanlon prodded home beyond the advancing keeper.

Highworth under 12s returned home from Trowbridge Rangers with a hard-earned point in a 3-3 draw.

Rangers opened up a 2-0 lead before the Worthies restored parity.

The hosts regained the lead in the second half but Highworth snatched a point late on.

Swindon Spitfires’ U12s pulled off a great 4-3 win over top of the table Bath City.

Erin Pearce (2), Kayleigh Stanley and Kimberley Jackson were on target for the Spitfires.

In the Berkshire Girls League Spitfires were 3-0 winners at Wokingham and Emmbrook.

Spitfires took the lead in the 13th minute as Poppy Cottrill netted from close range.

Spitfires bagged their second of the game midway through the second half after the Wokingham keeper could only parry Helena Butcher’s shot to the feet of Chloe Mason who was able to tap in from a yard out.

Butcher finally got a goal of her own with a fine looping shot from the edge of the box.

Spitfires were awarded a penalty after Brooke Stead was brought down from behind, however, Butcher’s spot kick was well saved.

In the Wiltshire Girls League Spitfires’ U14s were 8-0 winners at Derry Hill.

Tamzin Davis opened the scoring on three minutes as she broke through the defence to finish low into the bottom corner.

Straight from the kick off Spitfires won possession and Sophie Hynd netted her first goal in Spitfires colours.

The pressure was kept up and on 10 minutes an excellent corner from Hynd ended with Emily Povey heading in at the far post.

Derry Hill now had everyone behind the ball but they could do nothing to stop another strong run and finish from Hynd to make it 4-0.

Three minutes into the half Povey got her second of the game with a sweet left foot strike.

Ten minutes later Hannah Ballard picked the ball up on the halfway line and beat a defender on the edge of the box to make it 6-0.

Spitfires kept pushing forward and added to their tally with two further goals from Davis to complete her hat trick.

In the Oxford Girls League Spitfires U13s secured a 4-2 win over Launton.

Aimee Prinzi found the breakthorough for Spitfires on 13 minutes.

Prinzi continued to trouble the Launton defence, and bagged her second when connecting with a Chloe Neate cross.

Launton pulled a goal on 25 minutes but Prinzi completed her hat-trick when turning home Jasmin Hindon’s ball.

Two minutes into the second half Morgan Ly Culley thought she had scored when a quick one-two with Courtney Gleed saw her score, only to be denied by the linesman flag.

Despite Spitfires’ the pressure it was Launton who scored next.

Spitfires ensured that there was no fight back from Launton when Hindon netted from long range.
