RYAN Aldridge is looking forward to welcoming youngster Callum Buglass back to the ice for this weekend’s Link Centre double-header.

Swindon Wildcats D-man Buglass has missed his side’s last four games with concussion but is fighting fit again ahead of this evening’s English Premier League clash with the Sheffield Steeldogs (face-off 6pm) and Sunday’s game, which also counts as a Challenge Cup fixture, against the high-flying Basingstoke Bison.

“I think we’re fully fit this weekend and it’ll be good to have Callum back,” said Wildcats coach Aldridge.

“We’ve missed him in the defensive area because he’s a big player for us in there. I’ve been impressed with him so far.

“He’s good stick-to-stick and he’s difficult to beat one-on-one – he’s done really well for us.

“We’ve done a lot of work in practice on dealing with Sheffield and Basingstoke because they’ve both got different styles.

“Basingstoke have been doing really well and they like to play man-to-man D.

“Sheffield are a lot different really and they’re the kind of side that comes at you a lot more, so we’ve got to be ready for that.”

Swindon have yet to rack up a league win at the Link Centre so far this season and chief Aldridge is searching for some home comforts this weekend.

He added: “We know that we need to start winning at home and we’ve got to pick up some points this weekend.

“It is good to be playing two games at home because there’s no travelling and we should be well-rested for both games. We are going to have weekends where we’ve got two away games but that’s just the way it is.”
