SWINDON Wildcats have announced the return of former fan favourite Jonas Hoog to the Link Centre.

Hoog, who had returned to his home country of Sweden at the end of last season will, return to the side this week.

With the Cats lacking in fire-power it is hoped that he will re-ignite his relationship with Aaron Nell and fire the side up the league.

The arrival of another import player will not mean that anyone is leaving the Link Centre, but instead there will now be fierce competition for places, something head coach Ryan Aldridge is hoping will be good.

“Obviously we have been in a bit of a drought, we need more goals and Jonas supplies that,” said Aldridge.

“He has been sitting out so he is desperate to get back playing.

“I think he has probably learnt from not coming back and being at home this year, he is in the real world right now and I don’t think he is enjoying it so hopefully he is going to come in a be a spark for us.

“He gets us goals and we’re putting him and Aaron (Nell) back together and then see where the other lines lie. We need more goals plain and simple.”
