LYDIARD Millicent brothers Oscar and Elliott Pinson have enjoyed big success on their pint-sized motorcycles as they blazed a trail in the FAB-Racing Junior Minimoto British Championship.

Oscar, nine, had a debut season to remember after being crowned national champion in the 4.2 novice-intermediate class for six to 13-year-olds, finishing a whopping 132 points ahead of his nearest competitor.

Meanwhile, elder brother Elliott, 11, was second in the junior production class and fifth in the 4.2 pro class and also took first and second place in two separate classes at the opening of the NMRCC (National Minibike Road Racing Championship) winter series at Whilton Mill, Northamptonshire, earlier this month.

“I’ve never ridden myself but I’ve always been in to bikes and things like track days,” said dad Keith Pinson.

“Oscar heard about the academy run by Scott Redding, who’s a MotoGP rider, over at Hullavington and pestered me to take him, so I did. It was one of those things where, because his brother was doing it, Elliott wanted to give it a go too.

“They started racing from there and they both ride at the karting centre in Wroughton all the time. We’ve done a few rounds in the past but this year was the first time they’ve done a full season.”

Oscar is a pupil at Lydiard Millicent primary school whilst Elliott goes to Royal Wootton Bassett Academy.
