SWINDON Town boss Mark Cooper may have been nominated for the League One Manager of the Month prize but his players have again been overlooked for their accolade.

That is despite a return of 12 points from 15 in November, including wins over league leaders Bristol City and fellow promotion hopefuls Preston and Peterborough.

Though for Nathan Byrne he is happy for other clubs to have the spotlight if it means Town’s good form continues.

“I think everyone’s heard about how we play and that’s the main thing. If people watch us they can be entertained,” said Byrne.

“We don’t want to be in the papers every week up and down the country. I don’t think we need that, especially at this stage as it is still early in the season.

“It’s good that we are sort of under the radar and just grinding on trying to win games.

“We’ve got a bunch of lads who are very grounded and just want to play football every week.

“I think with the age (of the squad) that helps a lot. It’s not like we’ve got there or we’ve been and done it.

“We’re all striving to push on and get to the next level, push on and get into the Championship with Swindon Town.”
