COVENTRY boss Steven Pressley thinks his side need to start turning draws into wins as they prepare to face Swindon Town.

City have drawn three of their last six league games and only scored five goals in that time. However, the Sky Blues are mean at the back and have only conceded three in that period.

If Pressley’s side manage to get their nose in front against Town tonight, expect the home team to make it hard work for Mark Cooper’s men.

Though Coventry prefer a possession-based approach, much like Town, they like to play on the break and will be happy to sit behind the ball.

Ahead of the game Pressley called for his team to push for the wins that will see them rise up the table.

“We’ve only lost twice in the last ten games,” said the City boss. “We have drawn too many games. We need to look at turning those into wins."

“We need to guard against getting ahead of ourselves but our players are showing signs of confidence, which is great.

“Swindon are an ever-improving team, they are an excellent side, with only one defeat in their last nine. But I love these types of challenges.”

The Sky Blues will be buoyed by the permanent signings of two players who have impressed on loan, Frank Nouble and Aaron Martin.

Nouble joins after becoming a fan favourite in a 15-game and four-goal loan spell from Ipswich Town, where his contract had been terminated.

Martin signs on under similar circumstances. The defender impressed on loan from Yeovil and again joins the Sky Blues after his being released by his parent club The City boss was delighted to have tied the pair down two players and hopes they can both develop at the club.

“We tried to bring Aaron here two years ago and he is a player that I have tracked ever since.

“He is a terrific professional with a desire to improve. We believe we can give him the confidence and platform to do so.

“Aaron’s presence at the back has helped contribute to an impressive defensive record and we hope to see that continue for the rest of the season.

“During (Nouble’s) time at the club, we believe he has shown that he has the potential to develop into a Coventry City player.

“The deal is only until the end of the season and this is a pivotal period in Frank’s career. He must show the supporters and myself that he is worthy of a longer term .”
