SWINDON Town have confirmed that defender Jack Stephens' loan spell from Premier League Southampton has been extended until the end of the season.
Stephens, 21, has made 20 appearance this season, scoring his first goal in Town's last match, against Chesterfield earlier this month.
Town had been keen to retain the defender for the remainder of the League One campaign and agreement was reached with Southampton with the Premier League giving the nod for the deal to be completed.
Stephens, has shown his adaptability this season, proving a useful holding midfielder in the absence when required. It is a role he is likely to fill this weekend at Sheffield United, with Ben Gladwin injured and Yaser Kasim not yet returned from the Asian Cup.
