SWINDON Town striker Miles Storey is expected to extend his stay at Newport County beyond the end of this month later today.

Mark Cooper confirmed at this morning’s press conference that the 21-year-old, who signed on loan with Jimmy Dack’s side in January, would stay beyond the initial month deal he signed.

Despite not finding the net on his five appearances since joining it is understood that Storey is enjoying his time in South Wales and the chance to play regular first-team football, with an announcement on his future expected later today.

When Cooper was asked this morning if he anticipated and extension to Storey’s loan deal he replied: “Yes. There’ll probably be confirmation of that today.”

“He’s done well in parts, still learning the game but he’s done well enough for them to want to keep him for another month.”

Meanwhile Cooper has also confirmed that Ty Belford's older brother, Cameron Belford, is on trial with the club.

The former Bury stopper took to twitter earlier this week to post a picture of himself in a Swindon Town training top and the Town boss is happy to have a look at the 26-year-old.

“We’re just having a look at him. Obviously I know Cameron, he’s Ty’s brother and he’s come in to train with us and we’re having a look at him,” he told the local media this morning.

“I know him, I know what he can do and we’re just trying to sharpen him up in training, putting him in a few practice matches and see how he goes.

“There are no promises. We’re just having a look at him.”
