Swindon are back on the road again, where, until recently, they have fared rather well this season. It has been the Robin’s away performances that have helped them reach their current league position.

Yet three away defeats on the spin, oh and throw one home loss into the mix, and you have Swindon’s worst spell for a number of years.

Having said all that, they are still in third place, just two points from an automatic spot, but we are now looking over our shoulder at the likes of Preston and Sheffield United. With the teams outside the play-off positions needing at least a 15 point swing to overhaul Swindon, it may be safe to assume that they will at least be in the end of season lottery.

As I see it, and it is only my opinion, you can permeate any two of the top four for the automatic positions. Town still have to play the other three of the top four, so their own destiny is still well within their grasp.

To seize the moment though, Town have to hope that the bad spell of form is now behind them. The mid-week win against a physical Bradford side has helped, but they need to secure the win against Crewe to build on that belief and restore the confidence that has slipped of late.

The game against Crewe though will be no walkover. Like Crawley, Crewe are fighting for survival in this league. They are currently five points from safety and as we all know, that can all change in a heartbeat.

The Swindon defence will need to put in a more solid performance than of late, because Crewe now have ex Town player Nicky Ajose in their ranks and, unlike our strikers at the moment, he does have an eye for goal.

Come on you Reds.
