ALUN Rossiter is predicting that his new-look Swindon Robins side will draw on their greatest asset – their fearlessness – to take the Elite League by storm in the upcoming season.

The Abbey Stadium boss has revamped the make-up of his team during the close season, with only Australian duo Troy Batchelor, who once again captains the Robins, and Nick Morris remaining from the side that completed the previous campaign.

Rossiter moved to bring Adrian Miedzinski back to the club as his new number one rider, whilst fellow Polish ace Grzegorz Zengota has also made a return to the Abbey.

Young Great Britain international Kyle Howarth has also been snapped up by Swindon, whilst the Robins also recruited Charles Wright and Lewis Rose in the Elite Riders Draft to fill their reserve slots.

The seven riders that will blaze a trail in red, white and black were all in Blunsdon for Tuesday’s press and practice day and whilst reluctant to compare his 2015-2016 line-up to previous teams, Robins manager Rossiter says that he’s certainly excited by their potential.

“It’s very difficult but I think this year we’ve probably got the most scope for improvement we’ve had in a long time,” said the Swindon chief.

“We needed to freshen it up a little bit. We had some constant faces but we needed to freshen it up a little bit and we’ve done that.

“It’s a young side and I’m excited by it. I’m looking forward to seeing these guys. I don’t think there’ll be any fears from them at all.

“They’re not frightened.

“I think, obviously, Nick’s just improving and it’s a lot to ask but he’s a heat leader again. I think Kyle Howarth and certainly Greg Zengota; they’re going to be the key ones.

“Once Charles was available, I went straight for him. I knew he had a fantastic season last year at Somerset and I was really keen that he came in.

“We’ve got a great pairing in the reserves. I’m really excited by that. I think it’s exciting times ahead.”
