ROBINS co-promoter Colin Pratt is excited by the prospect of returning to the speedway scene after three years away.

Pratt was in charge at Coventry Bees when Robins boss Alun Rossiter was the manager there and the duo enjoyed great success, winning the Elite League title together in 2010.

He stepped away from the Bees to deal with some personal issues, including the death of his partner, in 2012, but the 76-year-old returned to the sport at the behest of owner Terry Russell.

Russell called on Pratt to replace Pete Toogood, after the former co-promoter left to focus on his other businesses, back in November and now on the dawn of the new season a refreshed Pratt is eager to get going.

“I’m looking forward to the new challenge after being away for three years now,” said Pratt.

“The season tickets sales have been going quite well, which is good news.

“I think Rosco has put together quite an exciting team with a lot of potential so I’m looking forward to the season.

“My main role will be in the office with administration, making sure everything is right with hospitality up here with Jon Watton (commercial manager), looking after sponsors and things like that.

“That’s really the co-promoter side of it, while Rosco does the hooting and hollering.”

Pratt also revealed the secret behind the success of his relationship with Rossiter at Brandon.

“Well I think at Coventry I spoiled him with things like letting him eat fish and chips or curry and chips in the pits whilst I was working,” japed the co-promoter.
