SUNDAY will be an extra special occasion for one of Swindon Town’s quartet of Young Lions.

Jack Stephens, a Torpoint boy, is in line for his first appearance at England Under 20 level, as they take on the USA. The big deal for Stephens will be playing at the ground where it all began for him, Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park.

Town’s Southampton loanee came through the ranks at Plymouth and made a handful of appearances for their first team before leaving to enter into the fold at the heralded Saints academy.

So while it may also be a special occasion for Jordan Turnbull and Harry Toffolo, both of whom could also make their Under 20s debut tomorrow, they probably won’t mind if Stephens is the centre of attention.

The 21-year-old, who has emerged as key figure in Town’s midfield of late, will be hoping for a better result than when he returned home with his club side earlier this season. On that damp night in October the Robins' Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tilt ended with an unexpected defeat to Argyle.

“It would be nice to be involved down there, I’m not too sure yet what is going on, but it would be great to be involved and to go back to Plymouth,” Stephens told the Advertiser.

“It’s brilliant to have all four of us here, it shows what good work we’re all doing at Swindon, as a club and how we’ve done as a team this season.

“I think there is going to be quite a few members of family coming over for the game, hopefully I get a few minutes and show what I can do.

“It’s going be a bigger occasion than the JPT game I think, I’m hoping for a better result this time, but I’ve just got to focus on the game itself and not get distracted by things off the pitch.”
