WE RECENTLY published the ‘TrustSTFC Five Year Vision’ as part of our Supporters’ Trust AGM pack – it’s basically a graphical representation of our five year goals for Swindon Town, which we use as a constant reminder of where we want our football club to be.

The Vision inspires activity on our behalf, and includes items such as celebrating our history, helping our club to become more family focused, improving links with schools and youth football, and assisting where we can on stadium improvements - among other things.

Supporters can play a huge part in making these goals come true, but the most obvious vision item that we can all help out with is “A full stadium of passionate fans”.

The County Ground can be an awesome experience when the home crowd is operating at full volume, and over the years we have witnessed some fantastic occasions.

We are fully behind the Swindon Advertiser’s “Let’s Get The County Ground Rocking” campaign, and urge anyone reading to ensure they are at the forthcoming MK Dons game. The opening minutes often set the tone for the entire match, so it’s important that all supporters welcome the team out, and approach kick-off with a fantastic roar.

Be proud of your team, because whatever happens from now on - they’ve already surpassed the points total for last season, and there are 27 points still to play for. A superb achievement.

If you’re coming to the game and sit in the Don Rogers stand, please bring along a scarf and hold it up for the team to see as they walk out into the stadium. If you’re in the Arkells, then hold up a scarf or wave something red, so that the TV audience know they are missing out on a great occasion….and remember to make some noise!

We’re also supporting Town fan activist Jay Collett in whatever way we can. For those of you that don’t already know, Jay used his own initiative to launch a campaign to encourage away supporters to get into the promotion spirit, going the extra mile with balloons, banners and vocal encouragement.

It takes time for these things to catch on, but we’ll be working with Jay on new ideas and hopefully this will be something that will become the norm at future games.

Be sure to play your part in the future vision of Swindon Town!

Your Club, Your Trust.
