SUPERMARINE boss Dave Webb has admitted that his squad is too thin for him to have the luxury of rotating his side with two games in the space of three days.

Supermarine start their Easter weekend with a trip to Tiverton Town, a side who sit just one point and a place below Webb’s side, on Saturday.

The Webb’s Wood outfit have struggled with injuries all season and this weekend is no different as Webb copes with the heavy bank holiday schedule.

“It is a difficult one with the number of players that we have got injured,” said Webb.

“It is not like I can make mass changes. I will probably rotate the team a bit and I might call in a couple of the young lads from New College to give them some experience.

“I think the actual spine of the side though will remain the same for both games.”

Webb could be boosted with the return of Scott Bevan and Luke Hopper for the trip to Devon but Ryan O’Hara, who played in last weekend’s 3-0 win over Fleet Town, will be missing.

“We will see if Luke can come through training and also assess Scott before the game but it will be a boost if we can have them both back,” added Webb.

“Luke Hopper is incredibly important for us, with the number of goals he has scored already this season – ultimately, we are a bigger threat with him back in the team and hopefully there is no reaction to him training.

“Signing Luke Matthews last week has helped defensively. He came in and played really well at left back.

“We’re going to go (to Tiverton) and look to get a result. I think there is only one place between us in the league, so it is key to go there and win.

“We’re travelling there on the coach on Saturday morning and it is always a good place to go and play your football.”

Supermarine then face a tough test on Easter Monday as they play host to second-in-the-table Stratford Town, who beat then 1-0 on New Year’s Day.

“We’ve got a tough-looking game on Monday,” said Webb.

“(In January), we felt we more than matched them and if we win on Saturday, we will go into that game full of confidence.”
