RYAN Martin maintained his perfect start to his professional boxing career tonight with a comfortable points success over Matthew Ashmole.

The classy welterweight was dominant from the opening bell for the 40-36 win.

It was a good opening round for the former Walcot and England amateur.

The 21-year-old was determined to show the Swansea man his power from the beginning and managed to fire off of six-punch combination of hooks.

Martin was a little less busy in the second round but he still managed to deliver several stinging hooks to the head and body. However, Ashmole was able to get off a few shots of his own to give the Swindon fighter something to think about.

Having spent time sparring IBF world featherweight title challenger Lee Selby in the build to this fight, Martin was showing signs of the Barry Mayweather against Asmole with some liquid movement in the third.

It was all too easy for Martin in the final session as he cruised home to his fourth win of his professional career.
