KYLE Howarth hopes the Swindon Robins have turned a corner in their season following a dominant 55-37 victory at home to King’s Lynn Stars on Thursday night.

Injuries have heavily hampered the Robins’ 2015 Elite League campaign and skipper Troy Batchelor and number one Adrian Miedzinksi have appeared just once this term, while proposed stand-in Peter Kildemand has also been laid up.

Numerous guests have come and gone and that lack of continuity has set Alun Rossiter’s team back, with the victory over the Stars at the Abbey Stadium just their second win in their opening five meetings.

However, with their best performance of the campaign under their belts and Batchelor and Kildemand both set to return to Robins colours in next Thursday’s home meeting against Wolverhampton Wolves, Howarth thinks the tide is starting to turn for Swindon.

“We’re a good team and we just want to get our team back together now and have a good strong team week in, week out,” said Robins number two Howarth.

“It’s been a bit rubbish in the last few weeks with Rosco having to search for guests here, there and everywhere.

“But we’re getting there now with Batch and Kildemand coming back next week, so hopefully things are looking up.

“We’ll get there and the most important thing is that we’ve just got to keep enjoying it.”

It was a good night for the Robins’ entire roster against King’s Lynn, with guest number one Hans Andersen leading the way as he claimed three wins from his five rides.

Stand-in skipper Nick Morris claimed a pair of victories, as did Howarth and Polish ace Grzegroz Zengota.

For Howarth, it was his first appearance back at the Abbey since he claimed victory at the British Under-21 Final last week, a triumph that has given him an extra spring in his step.

“It was a really good night and it was a good team effort. We were strong all the way through and everyone got points, which is the main thing,” added Howarth.

“Bringing in someone of Hans’ quality definitely helped us. Hans is a very good rider around here and he’s no mug out there.

“I definitely feel like I rode well. There were some nice rides and good points.

“There’s definitely a bit of extra confidence from the Under-21s last week - it’s helped me for sure.

“I feel like I’m getting there. I’m not a cocky and I’ve just got to keep my head down and keep working hard.”
