HOLY Cross RC School lifted the Bloor Homes’ (Girls) Cup with after a 4-1 penalty shootout win over Shaw Ridge at the Swindon Primary Schools finals day at Millbrook Primary.

Whelan-Rossi and Skoczek went close for Holy Cross with Cleminson impressing in the Shaw Ridge goal, while her opposite number Duffy was also in fine form as Benford and Curtis attempted to break the deadlock.

Duffy made another fine save from Figueira before Benford twice tried her luck from long range. Shaw Ridge almost scored a dramatic late winner through Curtis as the game finished goalless after extra time sending the tie to the shootout.

In the Plate Final, Wroughton claimed a 5-1 success over Millbrook.

Stubbington fired Wroughton into a sixth minute lead before Newcombe beat Evans to level matters.

Wallace restored Wroughton’s lead before the break and Sanger made it 3-1 after the interval.

Maule added a fourth for Wroughton before Millbrook went close through Bexon-Shaw and Yetik.

However, after hitting the hosts on the counter, Ayres rounded off the win for Wroughton.

Lethbridge won the Shield with a 2-1 victory over Lawn.

Lawn started well with Wynn-Davies going close before Banks gave Lethbridge the lead.

Parity was restored three minutes later through O’Callaghan as Hockin was unable to keep out Patridge’s strike to give Lethbridge the win.

Grange beat Ferndale 2-0 to win the Cup. Dacey gave the Lower Stratton school the lead before Butcher added the second. Ferndale looked for a way back into the game but could not find a way through a resolute defence.
