Marlborough will be looking to extend their current winning run to four games this Saturday when they take on Calne at home.

Marlborough currently sit in second place in the WEPL Wiltshire division ten points behind leaders Trowbridge.

Marlborough will be looking to their bowlers to continue their good form which has seen them bowl their opposition out for a 100 or less in their last three games.

George Fox has been leading the bowling attack with 10 wickets so far this season and Marlborough coach Brad Frost say’s Fox has been bowling at the top of his game this season.

Fox’s wickets have come at an average of less than 11 and with an economy rate of 2.79 runs an over.

“George has been unplayable at times this year and his success has encouraged the rest of the bowling unit to work well as a team," said Frost.

Frost himself has taken eight wickets to date and with all five of Marlborough’s bowling attack in the division’s top 25 wicket takers for the season Frost believes this shows the quality of the bowling unit as a team.

Frost added. “The fact that Ben Head has only bowled six overs in the last three games also says how well we have bowled with pace at the top of the innings.

"Ben has been the main stay of the bowling for many a year at Marlborough and the fact that we have him in reserve at this point should worry a lot of teams in our division.”

Marlborough captain Arran Dickinson also points out that the team’s success so far is not just down to the bowling unit as he believes the batting unit has worked just as well as a team with at least one of the top four scoring well in the games played so far.

“The batting unit have contributed all round this season with eight 50 plus partnerships in the games played so far," said Dickinson.

"The unit has batted well around the inform player and we have scored well when batting first.

"The team spirit around the team on and off the field is very good and everyone involved is very positive as to what we can achieve this year.”
